How do you decide a supplement is a watch-out?

A product is listed only when it scores below our 50 Effectiveness Match pass bar and there is a clearly better-scoring alternative in the same category. The score measures how closely a product’s active doses match the evidence-based clinical reference for its category. It is our editorial opinion, not a claim that a product is defective or unsafe.

What makes a supplement score low?

Common reasons are underdosed active ingredients versus the evidence-based reference, proprietary blends that hide individual doses on the label, amino-spiking that inflates stated protein, and a high cost per serving for the effectiveness delivered.

Are these products unsafe?
